Disabling Non-System Nodes

SHIPOPS provides commands for disabling and enabling a non-system cluster node. When a node is disabled, all applications are evicted from it, and no new applications can be placed on it until it is enabled again.

When to Use This Function

This function can be used during administration or to gracefully decommission a server if the load has decreased and resources need to be saved.

Interruption Risk

WARNING!

Disabling a node will cause a service interruption if it has a tag that none of the remaining nodes have. In this case, there will be nowhere to evict the service applications.
