Entry Points

System nodes also act as entry points into the cluster, providing high availability for the services hosted in it. SHIPOPS provides the following entry point types:

Available Entry Point Types

How to Choose a Type

When choosing a type, the SHIPOPS user needs to determine what kind of cluster is required: a public cluster available from outside, or a service cluster available only in the private network. You also need to determine whether fault tolerance, load balancing, and additional security measures provided by external services are needed. Any of these types works with any number of nodes, starting from one. However, keep in mind that with only one node, load balancing and fault tolerance will be limited.

More detailed information is provided in the description of each type.
